Mental Health Matters
Purpose
To increase awareness, openness, and acceptance of mental health challenges in our church and community.
Mental Health Matters
- Mental Health Matters is a program to get our church and our community talking about mental health, breaking down misperceptions while promoting recovery and healthy communities.
- It is to build and increase momentum and comfort about conversations that will increase our knowledge, understanding, and acceptance about mental health challenges.
Who is the program for?
- Mental Health Matters is for anyone who wants to learn about faith and mental health. It requires no previous training or expertise—just a willingness to engage in dialogue with others interested in the same topics.
- Participants from the community around us and the community within Immanuel Lutheran Church are welcome and encouraged to attend.
What to expect
- Each session will include various combinations of topic related videos, guest speakers, panel presentations, small group and large group discussions, and written content with thought-provoking discussion questions.
- Each new participant will receive a binder for organizing the written content and any notes they would like to make.
