We baptize people of all ages

… baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ…1 Peter 3:21

Christian churches practice baptism because the Scriptures command us to.  More specifically, Jesus Himself commands His disciples to go out into the world and to build the church through baptism and the teaching of God’s Word – this command stands true for us today.  Followers of Jesus not only receive baptism, but they see to it that others receive it as well.  (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38)

The Lord’s Supper

Unlike baptism which is a one time event, Jesus Himself has told us that the regular ongoing celebration of this meal is to be a part of our life together as a community of faith.  In the famous moment known as the “Last Supper” Jesus broke bread with his closest followers and said, “This is my body given for you,” and then he took the wine and said, “This cup is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.  Do this in remembrance of me.”  (Matthew 26:26-28, Luke 22:19-20)

Worship

It’s a highlight as we begin each week with worship.  We gather together with great anticipation and thanksgiving to receive the gift God’s grace that He brings through His Word, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.  Whether you are a guest checking things out or you are a regular attender or a life long member of Immanuel, you are all welcome.
