From July 19–23, 18 of our very own youth, young adults, Nikola and Pastor Lee joined 20,000 others in New Orleans for the 2025 LCMS Youth Gathering. The theme of the week was ENDURE, based on Hebrews 12:1–3:
“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith…”
It was an unforgettable week filled with deep worship, joyful connection, and the powerful reminder that we don’t run this race of faith alone.

Each evening, our group joined thousands of others at the iconic Superdome to sing, pray, and be inspired through Scripture and powerful testimonies. During the day, youth attended sessions at the Convention Center, where they explored real-life faith topics, asked tough questions, and grew in their understanding of God’s love and calling in their lives.
One highlight was our group’s opportunity to serve in the New Orleans community—putting faith into action in practical, meaningful ways. Along the way, we also soaked up the vibrant culture of Louisiana through its people, history, and yes—its amazing cooking!
But more than just the sights and sounds of New Orleans, the Gathering gave our group the chance to build deeper bonds with one another and with Jesus, the One who truly endures for us. Through small group reflections, shared meals, and plenty of laughs, the Holy Spirit knit our group together in new and lasting ways.
Throughout the week, we learned three big truths that we’ll carry home with us:
- We Endure in Jesus – Because Jesus endured the cross for us, we can endure whatever comes our way in life with hope and strength in Him.
- We Endure Together – God places us in a community of believers to encourage, support, and carry one another through.
- We Endure to the End – The goal isn’t just to start strong in faith—it’s to finish well, with our eyes fixed on Jesus.
At the time of this post, our group is en route back to Canada, hearts full and spirits renewed. Thank you to our congregation for your prayers, encouragement, and support—you helped make this life-changing experience possible. We can’t wait to share more in the weeks ahead!
“Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.” – Hebrews 12:3
